Due to certain unforeseen problems with our Software provider - the Govida company in Manila - the Earth Council Geneva is temporarily unable to provide services for our interactive e-learning courses until further notice. We thank you for your understanding.

How it works - How to enroll

Earth Council Geneva e-Learning provides two options for taking courses. First, individual learners can enroll in any of the open courses. Second, if you are a participant in a program with one of our partner organizations (like the Philippine WTO e-Learning Program or the UNFCCC Greenhouse Gas Inventory Review Training Program), you can login directly to the relevant program and choose the courses applicable to you.

Technology requirements

All courses are provided through the Internet. No special software is required. All a learner needs is a basic Internet connection, a browser like Internet Explorer, Netscape, Safari or Firefox, and an email account.

In some courses, we also use SMS technology to keep you current and to inform you of class developments. In these instances, a mobile phone is required.

Instruction

Most of our courses are instructor-led -- an instructor is available online for discussions, interaction and questions. We've found this to be highly effective in helping you take charge of what, where, when, and how you learn.

Our classes

Classes are typically limited to 40 learners. They usually last from 4-5 weeks, during which period learners are expected to put in between 15-30 hours online. There are 3 levels of interaction that are emphasized in Earth Council e-Learning courses. At the first level, learners interact with the content (through online exercises, quizzes, and games). At the second level, learners interact with other learners through discussions and exchanges, and at the third level, learners interact with online instructors, who also provide substantive guidance.

Assistance around the clock

The Earth Council Geneva e-Learning support team is ready to assist you 24/7 via email and skype. For technical questions, or to embark on your e-learning adventure, send us an email at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Certificate of Completion

Successful learners earn a certificate of completion from the Earth Council and the relevant partner organization. We are developing a program to provide academic credit for a Master's of International Trade, however, at this time, most of our courses do not provide academic credit, though most are offered by accredited learning institutions.  We are working for accreditation for all of our courses.
