Maurice Strong continues his support as a special advisor to ECG

Maurice Strong, who both chaired the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992 and founded Earth Council Costa Rica later that same year, participated by phone in Earth Council Geneva's annual Board meeting October 26th. Feeling that his present residence in China does not allow him to contribute as fully as he might otherwise, he has stepped down as a Board Member, but will continue to serve as a special advisor.

With the founding of Earth Council Geneva in 2002, Mr. Strong accepted the invitation to serve on the Board of Directors. We wish to thank him for his years of dedicated service, and look forward to further guidance in his role as a special advisor.
