The UNFCCC Greenhouse Gas Inventory Review Training Program
The demand for UNFCCC greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory experts is increasing exponentially, as awareness of climate change grows and governments are called to action.  The Carbon Disclosure Project, launched in London in December of 2000, now has well over 1,000 corporations onboard (these are large corporations, worth $41 trillion) and the number of organizations participating is on the increase as well.  There is an urgent and immediate need for a larger pool of well-trained experts to act as GHG review teams.  Fortunately, Earth Council Geneva can fill this demand.

Our program is organized by modules. The first module is an introduction to the general review procedures and requirements for GHG inventories under the UNFCCC, as well as to the guidelines of the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).  Additional modules cover sector-specific aspects of the review process and IPCC guidance, and include:

  •  Agriculture
  •  Energy-Combustion
  •  Fugitive Emissions
  •  Industrial Processes
  •  Waste
  •  Land Use, Land Use Change, and Forestry
  •  Improving Communications and Facilitating Consensus in Review Teams
Completing one or more of these e-learning modules will significantly improve your skills as an expert reviewer of the respective sectors under the UNFCCC and IPCC processes.
